I spent the time of this rainy Sunday relaxing doing some crafty DIY work. Keeping my hands busy is the perfect way to empty my brain and recharge the batteries... just what I need before going back to the office tomorrow, after three long weeks of holidays.

Ho trascorso questa piovosa domenica facendo qualche lavoretto fai da te. Tenere le mani impegnate è un modo perfetto per svuotare il cervello e ricaricare le batterie... esattamente ciò di cui ho bisogno prima di rientrare in ufficio domani, dopo tre lunghe settimane di vacanza.

House inspiration #3

La nostra nuova casa sta finalmente prendendo la forma desiderata, ma più si va avanti e più si aggiungono nuove idee che mi fanno intuire quanto tutto possa essere un infinito "work in progress"... almeno per i primi sei mesi! 

Per uno dei due bagni sto meditando di fare una parete color marrone cioccolato e poi mettere uno specchio dorato... mah, vediamo se alla fine mi decido. Intanto ho cercato qualche foto che potesse ispirarmi un po'.

Our new house is definately shaping into the house we're looking for, but the more we go ahead, the more we are developping new ideas that make me understand how much this whole thing can become a never-ending "work in progress"... at least for the first six months.

For one of the two bathroom I'm thinking about painting one of the wall in chocolate brown and then hanging  a gold framed mirror... anyway I'm not sure yet. In the meantime I've searched some inspiring pictures.

As seen during the past fashion weeks, it looks like red accessories will definately be back during fall-winter 2011/12.

To me, Bottega Veneta new bag is stunning!

Agiudicare da quanto visto sulle passerelle, sembra proprio che gli accessori rossi siano di ritorno per l'autunno-inverno 2011/12. 

Secondo me la nuova borsa di Bottega Veneta è meravigliosa!

Tropical Fruits and Citrus

Inspiration: Stella McCartney, Moschino Cheap and Chic, Prada

Per la primavera-estate 2011 le stampe con frutta tropicale e agrumi sono state proposte da diversi stilisti (Prada, Stella McCartney, Moschino) e poi riproposte a prezzi decisamente più cheap dalle catene low cost (una su tutte H&M).

La mia personale versione della tendenza? Questa blusa di seta stampata con limoni e aranci, trovata frugando tra i capi appesi nel mio negozio dell'usato preferito. 

Citrus and tropical fruit print is one of the trend launched by some brands (Prada, Stella McCartney, Moschino) and then also presented by cheaper low cost chain, like H&M.

My personal version of the trend? This silk blause I found hanged in my favourit thrifted shop, which is printed with lemons and oranges.

More or less ten days ago I was in Hong Kong and Shanghai again... well, I definately love the two cities.

Nevermind the unpleasant hot weather that was in both towns, I had a wonderful time.

Looking for wallpapers

I'm using this year summer holidays to work on house renovation. 

This afternoon I'll go and have a look to find a couple of nice wallpapers: in Italy they're not so popular, so I hope I'll easily find some nice patterns.

I lavori nella casa nuova procedono e io continuo a cercare varie idee per i colori delle pareti e il decoro di alcuni mobili. 

House renovation work are going on and I keep searching good ideas for wall colours and forniture decoration. 

 

Questa è in assoluto una delle mie foto preferite: i colori sono perfettamente complementari. - This is one of my favourite picture: colours match perfectly.

Una mappa e una bellissima radio d'epoca: un angolo d'effetto - A map and a beautiful vintage radio: this corner is a statement.
